With bus lines, metro lines, tramways, Transilien, and RER, there are numerous solutions for getting around Île-de-France. Every day, 12 million trips are made using public transportation in Île-de-France, including over 7 million on the RER and metro. While RATP is the historic operator of the Paris metro, it currently has a multimodal transportation network that enables 3.3 billion trips each year.

In 1960, the company embarked on a territorial development project to enable everyone to travel within Paris and its suburbs. This marked the beginning of the RER. Since then, RATP has continuously modernized to adapt to the mobility needs of the people in Île-de-France. Whether it's traveling within Paris, in the suburbs, or even outside of Île-de-France, RATP offers a transportation network that expands every year.
