Metro Line 16

The commissioning of the future Line 16 is scheduled for 2027 on the section between Saint-Denis Pleyel and Clichy – Montfermeil . The line will then be completed with a section put into service during the year 2030 between Clichy – Montfermeil and Noisy – Champs.

This section of the Grand Paris metro project primarily focuses on the northeast of the Parisian suburbs. The extensive loop of Line 16 will serve three departments in the Île-de-France region through the cities of Saint-Denis, La Courneuve, Le Bourget, Le Blanc-Mesnil, Aulnay-sous-Bois, Sevran, Livry-Gargan, Clichy-sous-Bois, Montfermeil, Chelles, Gournay-sur-Marne, Noisy-le-Grand, and Champs-sur-Marne. To develop the public transport network and support the construction of new lines in these municipalities, new stations will be inaugurated.

The main connection points for Line 16 are the stations:

• Saint-Denis – Pleyel: served by Metro Lines 14, 15, 16, and RER D
• Le Bourget: served by Metro Line 17, RER B, and Tram T11
• Noisy-Champs: served by Metro Line 15 and RER A.

The two termini of Metro Line 16 will thus connect to the new Line 15. Thanks to this connection, you can enjoy a large loop around Paris, serving several dozen municipalities and dynamic areas like La Défense or Nanterre.

Another important connection is with Line 17 at the Le Bourget RER station. It will allow you to reach two Paris airports: Le Bourget and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Other lines in the Île-de-France transport network are accessible via connections with Line 16. You can find Tram Line T1 at La Courneuve, Tram Line T4 at Clichy – Montfermeil, or RER E and Transilien Line P at Chelles – Gournay.

The key locations directly served by Metro Line 16 are:

• Stade de France (Saint-Denis – Pleyel station)
• Académie Fratellini (Saint-Denis – Pleyel station)
• Cité Descartes and its campus (Noisy – Champs station)
• Ateliers Médicis (Clichy – Montfermeil station)
• The future art center at Saint-Denis – Pleyel station

Shopping centers like Beau Sevran (Sevran – Baudottes) will also be accessible from the metro stations. On the nature side, several parks are open to Line 16 users. For example, you can find Robert Ballanger Park (Aulnay – Val Francilia), the large Souvenir Emile Fouchard Park (Chelles – Gournay), and the Poudrerie Forest Park and the Ourcq Canal (Sevran – Livry).

Thanks to its numerous connections to Paris and the main economic hubs of the Parisian suburbs, Metro Line 16 also expands possibilities for residents of Île-de-France: Rungis, Roissy, La Défense, and Nanterre will be much more accessible from the east of Greater Paris.
