It was in the first half of the 19th century that the first omnibuses appeared in Paris. In the early 1900s, they were gradually replaced by buses. The bus network in Paris operated by RATP has over 350 regular daytime lines, including 65 within the city of Paris, as well as suburban lines, shuttle lines to the capital's airports, and 48 Noctilien lines (from 12:30 am to 5:30 am). 5 million passengers use the Paris bus network every day.
