A station steeped in history!

Discover the history of Paris during your journey! Bastille is a true museum station. It is located on the site of the former Bastille fortress, which was destroyed during the French Revolution. A large fresco summarizes these events on the platforms of line 1. Keep an eye out: the remains of the old walls of the Bastille can be found on the platforms of line 5 (towards Bobigny - Pablo Picasso), and in a corridor of the station. On line 1, you can see an illuminated plaque where the Tower of Liberty once stood. The plaque is visible from the train, heading towards La Défense.
