The Saint Denis Station is also known as Saint-Denis – L’Île-Saint-Denis. It was inaugurated in 1846 to connect the capital to Saint-Denis and easily and quickly serve the northern suburbs of Paris. In 1847, a railway line and 3 horse-drawn omnibus lines were serving the station. In 1890, tram-trains arrived, before being replaced by regular trains. The Saint-Denis station has evolved over time to accommodate the current Transilien, RER, and tramway lines. Today, it welcomes 90,000 passengers per day.
