After its first service in 1980, the RER C has undergone numerous changes to its route and destinations. Today, the C line connects the stations of Pontoise, Versailles - Château Rive Gauche, and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines for the western branches.
The southern branches connect the stations of Saint-Martin-d'Étampes, Dourdan la Forêt, and Massy Palaiseau. The Versailles Chantiers station is accessible via a loop passing through central Paris.
On the Pontoise branch, there are numerous connections with the metro and stations serving tourist attractions: the Palais des Congrès, Radio France, the Eiffel Tower, the Pont de l'Alma, Les Invalides, the Musée d'Orsay, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the François Mitterrand Library. The RER C also stops at Austerlitz station.
Not to mention, easy access to the left bank of the Palace of Versailles, which can be reached via the RER C from trams T2, T3a, and T6.
