To get to the Bois de Boulogne, the most convenient mode of transport is to take the metro. From Parisian neighborhoods or the suburbs, several metro stations allow you to quickly reach different areas of the Bois.

• The Jasmin and Ranelagh stations on line 9. From Jasmin, walk about fifteen minutes to reach the paths located at Porte de la Muette, in the southeast of the Bois de Boulogne. The Ranelagh station is just a few steps from the Jardin du Ranelagh and the paths leading to the woods.
• The Les Sablons and Porte Maillot stations on line 1. At the border of the 16th arrondissement and Neuilly, the Porte Maillot station offers almost immediate access to the northern area of the Bois for pedestrians. Les Sablons is a 15-minute walk from the Jardin d’Acclimatation and the Louis Vuitton Foundation.
• The Porte Dauphine metro station on line 2. Reach the heart of the Bois from the northeast by walking along Avenue Foch for 10 minutes.
• The Porte d’Auteuil station on line 10. Head towards the southern entrance of the Bois after getting off the metro. You are near the Auteuil Hippodrome and the lower lakes.

Good to know Do you prefer exploring the woods by bike? Self-service bike stations (Vélib') are located near the entrances to the Bois de Boulogne, particularly near the Porte Dauphine station.

The RER C offers convenient access to the Bois de Boulogne, whether from central points like the Eiffel Tower or the Musée d’Orsay, as well as from the western parts of Paris. Get off at one of the following three stations:

• Neuilly – Porte Maillot station. You are just a 15-minute walk from the entrance to the Bois. This is ideal for quickly accessing the large lakes from Avenue de la Grande Armée.
• Avenue Foch station. Walk along Avenue Foch for about ten minutes to reach the main avenues and green spaces in the eastern part of the Bois.
• Avenue Henri Martin station. Access the Bois de Boulogne from the east by walking for about ten minutes after getting off the RER C.

With regular services, bus line 244 drops you off just a few minutes' walk from the entrance to the Bois. Get off at the Suresnes stop to quickly reach the main points of interest, such as the Jardin d’Acclimatation and the Longchamp Racecourse.

Whether for a family stroll or a jog, note that bus lines 32, 43, 52, 63, 73, 93, 123, 241, and PC1 also allow you to quickly reach the main avenues, lakes, and paths of the Bois.

Regarding the tramway, line T2 is an interesting alternative for quickly reaching the Bois from La Défense. The Suresnes-Longchamp stop on the T2 is in the immediate vicinity of the western entrance to the Bois de Boulogne.

Famous for its horse races, the Longchamp Racecourse remains an iconic site in the Bois de Boulogne, especially if you are an equestrian enthusiast. If you are near Porte d’Auteuil, you are just a few minutes' walk from the Roland-Garros stadium and the southern entrance to the Bois.

Extend your nature walk with a visit to the Louis Vuitton Foundation. This gem of contemporary architecture regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions.
