The Luxembourg Garden, sometimes nicknamed "the Luco," is located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Well-served by a network of metros, buses, and an RER line, it is very easy to access. This beautiful garden, managed by the Senate, hosts the Luxembourg Palace, the Senate Orangery, the Luxembourg Museum, as well as various exhibitions and concerts.

Access to the Garden

The main entrance is located at Rue de Vaugirard, 75006 Paris. Very spacious, the park is also accessible through its many gates on Rue Guynemer, Rue d'Assas, Rue Auguste Comte, Boulevard Saint-Michel, and Rue de Médicis.

Getting to the Luxembourg Garden by Metro

The Garden benefits from excellent service by the Paris metro lines. To get there, you can take metro line 4, line 10, or line 12 and get off at the following stops:

  • Odéon, served by lines 4 and 10: the metro station is just a 6-minute walk from the north entrance of the Garden (400m).
  • Mabillon, served by metro line 10: it takes about 8 minutes on foot to reach the Garden (500m).
  • Saint-Germain-des-Prés, served by metro line 4: located a 10-minute walk away.
  • Rennes or Notre-Dame-des-Champs, served by metro line 12: these stations provide access to the Fleurus gate, located to the west of the Luxembourg Garden, in just 7 minutes on foot (500m).

Getting to the Luxembourg Garden by Bus

The bus is another convenient way to reach the Luxembourg Garden from all corners of Paris. Less than 3 minutes from the park, you will find bus stops for lines 21, 27, 38, 58, 82, 83, 84, 85, and 89.

Getting to the Luxembourg Garden by RER

The park is also bordered by the RER B line, providing easy access for residents of the Île-de-France region and visitors traveling from the Paris suburbs or from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. To visit the Luxembourg Garden, get off at the RER Luxembourg station, located at Boulevard Saint-Michel, at the west entrance of the park.

Finding a bike in the 6th Arrondissement

Public transport in Paris is not the only way to access the Luxembourg Garden. If you choose to make the journey by bike, there are 7 Vélib' stations located within 100 meters of the various entrances to the Garden. Opening Hours and Admission Fees for the Luxembourg Garden

Entry is free, and the park's hours vary every two weeks depending on the sun. Thus, between mid-October and mid-February, the Luxembourg Garden opens at 8:00 or 8:15 AM and closes at 4:30 or 5:30 PM. For the rest of the year, the Garden is open longer, extending its hours from 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM starting in mid-June.
