Once you have booked your flight ticket online or at an agency, you will receive all the essential information for your journey: the flight number, your baggage allowance, the departure time, and the terminal. You can now start organizing your flight!

What regulations should you know to prepare your luggage?

To take a flight, you must comply with specific rules that meet aviation security standards, as well as the regulations of each country you will be traveling through. It is particularly important to know:

• the list of prohibited items in checked and carry-on baggage.
• the restrictions on transporting certain products such as medications (requiring a valid prescription).
• the regulations for liquids on a plane, which can only be carried in the cabin in containers of up to 100mL, and must be placed in a transparent bag with a maximum capacity of 1L.

This way, you can travel with your baggage on the plane without the risk of having your personal belongings confiscated during a security check.

How to find and contact your airline?

Do you have a question, a specific request, or want to know where to find your airline at Paris Airports? Consult the list of airlines by airport and terminal. You will find the contact information for each airline.

At the airport, simply follow the signs and information screens located in all terminals. When departing on your flight, the formalities involve check-in and passing through security checks. Upon arrival, you will go through passport control before retrieving your checked baggage. Customs checks may also be conducted.

What are the essential documents for air travel?

For both adults and children, the mandatory documents for air travel are:

• a ticket in your name
• your passport or identity card depending on your destination
• if necessary, the visa(s) required for each country visited or transited during layovers.

If the passenger is a minor traveling alone or without their parents, they must also present a signed Authorization to Leave the Territory (AST) from one of the parents, accompanied by a copy of that parent's identification document.

How to check in before the flight?

Check-in for passengers and checked baggage is mandatory before the flight. Most airlines offer online check-in, but you can also check in at the airport using the self-service kiosks located in the terminals at Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, or directly at the check-in counters.

We recommend arriving in advance to avoid the stress of departure:

• at least one hour before for short-haul flights
• at least three hours before for long-haul flights.

How do security and customs checks work?

When departing, you will go through security checks after the check-in process. Identity checks are followed by baggage checks, and you will pass through a detection gate. You can then proceed to your boarding gate.

Upon arrival, signs will guide you through border controls and to the baggage claim area.

Customs officers are also present and may conduct customs checks at the airport. You can voluntarily present yourself at the customs office if you have something to declare. Customs regulations depend on the country visited. Be sure to check them before traveling by plane.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports are the two largest airports in France. They allow airlines to connect the capital to numerous domestic and international destinations. Several services have been put in place to facilitate the flow and comfort of travelers departing from Paris airports.

How to get to Paris Orly and Roissy-CDG airports?

All roads lead to Paris Airports! RATP operates bus lines, metros, and trams that provide access to both airports. RER lines also serve the airports or their vicinity.

If you arrive by train, public transportation in Paris allows you to reach the major train stations in Paris from the airports in approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Charles de Gaulle Airport also has a TGV high-speed train station for travel to and from other regions of France.

Finally, you can choose to drive to the airport using the numerous parking facilities and drop-off zones, or take a taxi or private hire vehicle.
