Why does the scooter or bike slow down or stop?

Your vehicle suddenly slowed down, or even stopped? One of the following reasons may explain this situation:

  • You are outside the usage area. Indeed, outside a usage area, the electric assistance or the accelerator of the vehicle is disabled. Please retrace your steps to reactivate the assistance or the accelerator; otherwise, your vehicle's locking system will most likely engage.

  • You are crossing a reduced speed zone. In certain cities, particularly in Paris, several reduced speed zones have been established. When you enter these zones, your scooter automatically slows down to the permitted speed. These zones are marked in yellow or purple on the application map. When you enter one of these zones, your vehicle's speed is automatically adjusted.

  • Your vehicle is out of battery. Indeed, when the battery level is low, the bike no longer has electric assistance, and the scooter gradually slows down and eventually comes to a complete stop. To avoid being charged additional fees related to improper parking, we encourage you to push the scooter to a designated parking area marked with a blue P on the Bonjour RATP application map and then proceed to end the rental by clicking on "Complete the ride" on the application screen.

  • Your vehicle may have a problem. If the battery level is high and you are in the usage area, please complete your trip and report the vehicle by clicking on the relevant partner button below.
