Since November 2025, t+ tickets and Origin-Destination tickets have no longer been sold. However, you can still use them until May or June 2026. All the information is in this article.

Key dates

Since November 2025, paper t+ tickets and Origin-Destination tickets have no longer been sold in Île-de-France.

They remain valid for travel:

  • Until May 2026 on buses and trams (please note, the phase-out will be gradual, line by line, throughout this period)
  • Until June 2026 on the metro for t+ tickets
  • Until June 2026 on the Metro/Train/RER network for Origin-Destination tickets

No refunds are possible.
However, paper t+ tickets and Origin-Destination tickets can be exchanged at RATP or SNCF ticket counters until September 1, 2026, up to a limit of 20 tickets per day. The exchange will be made for a Metro-Train-RER or Bus-Tram ticket of equivalent fare, loaded onto a Navigo Easy pass that has already been purchased (you will need to obtain one beforehand).

Objectives: simplifying everyday travel

The end of paper tickets is part of a broader effort to modernize public transport in the Paris region, led by Île-de-France Mobilités. The objectives are threefold:

  • Reduce queues at stations, making validation faster;
  • Improve the passenger experience on a daily basis by offering greater flexibility;
  • Reduce environmental impact, by ending the production and recycling of paper tickets.

Alternatives to paper tickets

Several simple and practical solutions are already available for travelling in Île-de-France as a replacement for paper tickets.

The Navigo Easy Pass: the ideal solution for occasional travellers

The Navigo Easy Pass is a physical card that you can buy at stations for €2.
You can then load your transport tickets onto it, at stations or remotely via the Bonjour RATP app: passes, single tickets (Bus-Tram, Metro-Train-RER) and Airport tickets.
All you have to do is tap your pass at the gates and the journeys will be automatically deducted.

It offers many advantages:

  • It can be reloaded remotely via the Tickets section of your Bonjour RATP app;
  • It has a lifespan of around ten years;
  • It is non-personalized and can be lent to another traveller for a different trip.

Please note: 1 traveller = 1 pass. Two travellers cannot travel together using the same pass.

Tickets and passes on your phone, the convenient solution for everyone

So you no longer need to carry a physical pass, you can buy and keep your transport tickets on your phone.

  • Buy: in the Bonjour RATP app, under the Tickets section, by clicking on Buy a ticket on my phone
  • Validate: when approaching a gate, go to the Tickets section in the app, then click on "Validate" next to the card to use

And that's it: your phone is your new transport ticket!

Navigo Liberté + to pay as you go

This personalized pass allows you to:

  • Travel anywhere in Île-de-France using all modes of transport
  • Pay the following month only for the journeys made (pay as you go)
  • Benefit from preferential fares and included connections

More comfort and no need to reload = no hassle!

Where and how can you get help or more information?

  • RATP staff are available in stations to advise and support you personally, so do not hesitate to ask them.
