Extension of RER E: Opening of 3 New Stations Summary of Openings and next steps
Good news! After 8 years of construction, the first phase of the extension of RER E between Haussmann-Saint Lazare and Nanterre La Folie will be operational starting Monday, May 6, 2024. However, initially, this new section can only be used between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Opening of 3 New Stations
3 new stations - Porte Maillot, La Défense, and Nanterre - La Folie - will now be served. However, the line will only be fully operational by the end of the year.
Initially, this new section will only be open between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., with four trains running per hour. They will initially serve the stations between Nanterre and Gare du Nord. To continue towards the eastern part of Paris, passengers will need to change trains. The service will gradually increase with the Olympics and will be fully operational by the end of the year.
Next Step: Connecting to Mantes-la-Jolie
Works on RER E will continue after this first phase. The objective is to extend the line to Mantes-la-Jolie in the Yvelines department by the end of 2026.
