Two names for one station

Do you know why Voltaire and Léon Blum share the name of this station? The Voltaire - Léon Blum metro station simply evolved along with its neighborhood. When it was inaugurated in 1933, the station was located under Boulevard Voltaire and Place Voltaire. Therefore, it took the name of the famous philosopher. But in 1957, the square was renamed in tribute to the politician Léon Blum. To avoid confusion, the Voltaire station did not change its main name, but the subtitle 'Léon Blum' was added.
