End of RoissyBus: alternatives, refunds and tickets for CDG airport
RoissyBus, the iconic line connecting Paris to Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (CDG), is closing permanently. Whether you are a regular or occasional traveler, here's what you need to know: history, alternatives, tickets and refund procedure.
History of RoissyBus: over 30 years serving travelers
Inaugurated in 1992, Roissybus enabled millions of travelers to reach Paris directly from CDG, and vice versa.
For decades, it was a practical choice. This line was also the only shuttle serving all the airport terminals. Its closure marks the end of an era, but aligns with the evolving mobility needs and the emergence of newer, more modern solutions for reaching the airport.
Closure of RoissyBus: when and why?
RoissyBus will cease service on 02/28/2026, the date of the last shuttle.
This decision is part of the reorganization of airport connections, which aims to offer faster alternatives better suited to passenger flows. The frequent delays of RoissyBus were causing difficulties for travelers, due to the recurring congestion on the A1 motorway and the challenges of accessing the center of Paris.
Public transport alternatives
The RER B
The RER B remains a direct and frequent connection from the center of Paris, especially from Gare du Nord or Châtelet–Les Halles.
Tip: before leaving, you can purchase a Paris Region ↔ Airports ticket on the Bonjour RATP app. This ticket allows you to travel to or from Roissy-CDG on the entire Île-de-France rail network. You can load it onto a Navigo Easy pass or onto your smartphone.
Good to know 💡: do you have a monthly or annual Navigo pass? You won’t need any additional ticket to take the RER B.
The Express Line 9517
A new alternative builds on recent developments in the network:

Tip: you will need a Bus–Tram ticket to travel on this new line, which you can purchase in just a few taps on the Bonjour RATP app.
Good to know 💡: this line will not stop at the various terminals; for that, you will need to take the CDGVAL.
This new line aims to offer a more regular and more reliable trip, with a time saving of around twenty minutes compared with RoissyBus. In the future, this solution will benefit from new connections (lines 15, 16, and 17 by 2027).
And coming soon: the CDG Express
Currently under construction, the CDG Express will link Paris–Gare de l’Est to Roissy-CDG in 20 minutes, with a train every 15 minutes. Its opening is scheduled for March 2027.
