What is Vélib' Métropole?

Created in 2007, Vélib' Métropole is one of the first bike-sharing services in the world.

The objective of the Vélib' Métropole service is to facilitate the development of new mobility options in the Greater Paris metropolitan area.

With several million rides made on Vélib' each month, it is a major player in transportation and a complementary public service.

Vélib' in numbers:

• 1,400 stations in Paris and Île-de-France.
• 20,000 bikes, including 35% electric-assist.
• 400,000 subscribers in 2020.
• 5.5 million rides made in September 2020 (monthly record).
• 215,000 rides made on 11 September 2020 (record for a single day).
