Paris Orly Airport by taxi and VTC Journey time and fares
Taxis in Paris are plentiful! Although the fare is higher than a ticket to Orly by metro or bus, a taxi is often a good solution to get to the airport as quickly as possible. In normal traffic conditions, the taxi journey between the center of Paris and Orly Airport is usually 30 minutes.
Booking a taxi for Paris-Orly Airport
There are many taxi companies in Paris and the suburbs. We recommend calling them directly to book your taxi or taxi-motorcycle a few days before your trip. You can find their numbers at the Paris airports, your hotel, or in professional directories.
Preparing your taxi journey
If your journey is to be made during peak hours (morning or late afternoon in particular), make sure to allow enough time to get to Orly by taxi. Traffic jams can double the duration of your journey! Between the center of Paris and Orly, allow at least:
- 30 minutes if you leave at 2pm,
- 40 minutes if you leave at 6pm,
- 20 minutes if you leave at 1am.
Also, check that there are no ongoing roadworks or diversions that could lengthen the journey. As with public transport routes, we recommend anticipating any potential traffic jams by allowing an extra thirty minutes to get to the airport in complete serenity.

Taxi fares between Paris and the airport
The fares for taxis on direct routes between central Paris and Orly Airport are fixed:
- €35 from the left bank,
- €41 from the right bank.
There is also an additional charge for booking a Parisian taxi.
For other journeys, the minimum fare is €7.30, with a capped rate of €1.21 per kilometer traveled and €38.96 per hour. If you choose the VTC option, you can simulate the fare directly on your app before the ride. Prices vary depending on the distance and the state of road traffic.
Our tips for getting to Orly by taxi
At the airport, taxi zones are available near bus stops and OrlyVal. Don't forget to indicate your terminal to the driver so that they can drop you off as close as possible to it. On the return journey, you will easily find the taxi stands at Orly by following the signage inside the airport and outside.
Furthermore, if you do not take a pre-booked taxi, be careful to always check that it is a professional taxi, as illegal taxis sometimes offer their services from Paris or the airport. The vehicle must be equipped with a light sign indicating "taxi" on its roof, and a taximeter showing the price to pay.
