Tram-train T12: Opening on Saturday, December 9, 2023
It's official, the tram-train T12 will welcome its first passengers starting from Saturday, December 9, 2023. This new tramway will serve the 12 municipalities of Essonne (91) between Massy and Evry-Courcouronnes, namely Massy, Palaiseau, Champlan, Longjumeau, Chilly-Mazarin, Épinay-sur-Orge, Savigny-sur-Orge, Morsang-sur-Orge, Viry-Châtillon, Grigny, Ris-Orangis, Evry, and Courcouronnes. The T12 tram in a few figures
- 16 equipped stations (glass shelters, seating, greenery, display screens...) including 11 new ones and 5 existing stations on the RER C line that have been renovated

Why is this tramway called a tram-train? Because it is able to operate on both the national rail network, specifically between Massy and Épinay-sur-Orge, and tramway tracks in urban areas, between Épinay-sur-Orge and Évry-Courcouronnes.
