Metro line 14 is continuing its modernization works at the start of 2026, and a complete traffic interruption is scheduled. This closure could have a direct impact on your journeys.

Line 14 Works: Key Closure Dates

As part of the modernization works on line 14, a total traffic interruption is scheduled to allow testing and adjustments:

  • Sunday, April 5, 2026: complete closure until 2:00 p.m.

❌ No metro service will operate along the entire line during the interruption. A replacement bus will serve stations between Gare de Lyon and Olympiades.

To reach Orly Airport, we recommend taking line métroMETRO ligne 7 to Villejuif-Louis Aragon station, then tram tramwayTRAM ligne T7.

Transport alternatives

Various transport alternatives will be available in addition to the replacement buses:

  • Alternative routes will be available including metro, bus, RER and tram. Start a route search with the Bonjour RATP app on the date of your choice to find the best journeys.
  • For some distances, you can also choose to walk or cycle (distances and journey times indicated on the image)

Why are these disruptions happening?

These temporary interruptions are part of the vast modernization project for line 14, which recently integrated the stations between Saint-Denis Pleyel and Orly Airport, making it one of the longest and most automated lines on the network! The works aim to optimize the automatic train control system, strengthen train reliability, and prepare the line to welcome one million passengers per day.

Travel tips for Île-de-France passengers

To anticipate these disruptions and organize your journeys with peace of mind, here are a few useful habits.

Check real-time traffic information

Before setting off, check traffic conditions on the app or on the Bonjour RATP website. This will let you know about any service changes, delays, or planned interruptions.

Search for an alternative route

If line 14 is closed or partially under works, the route search tool offers you solutions via other metro, RER, or bus lines suited to your journey.

Buy your tickets in advance

During busy periods or disruptions, remember to buy your tickets (single tickets and travel passes) on the Bonjour RATP app to avoid queues at ticket machines in stations and train stations.

Create a traffic alert

From the app's Traffic section, you can create an alert for your favorite lines. You will then receive a notification for each new disruption, on the days and at the times that interest you.
